Poor handwriting is stressful for kids and helping them can be a frustrating experience for the parents and teachers!
Poor handwriting can evolve from difficultly in a mixture of factors, such as: motor planning, processing information from our sensory systems, remembering letter formation strokes, recognising all letters, spacing, organisation, alignment, pencil grip, pencil pressure, copying ability, and more.
Phew what a list! Handwriting really is a complex task!
At Children’s Therapy we offer handwriting enrichment groups that encourage the development of handwriting abilities through a positive and supportive approach. We are really aware of how difficulties in this area can knock the confidence of our young learners and the groups aim to support our learners to develop a more positive attitude toward practicing handwriting, a skill for which many have received little positive feedback.
The handwriting groups at Children’s Therapy London are led by our experienced team of therapists and therapy assistants who are trained in the Pen Stars programme. Group numbers are kept low with between 4 - 6 students per class to allow targeted support to be provided throughout the sessions.
